Marley is the oldest in our household at 7 yrs. old. He was a scrawny kitten with big features (ears, feet, etc.). He pretty much stays to himself as far as the other fuzzez are concerned, but as you can see once in a blue moon, I'll catch him tolerating a foster kitten. That is Benji as a kitten, btw, snuggled up to Marley. They still actually sleep together on my son, Jared's bunk bed (top) at night. But Benji takes the pillow, while Marley guards the foot of the bed. P.S. For those of you who didn't already know, you can click on the blue underlined words. They are links!

Good morning! I got "hyperlink" happy last night while typing today's post! Hope everyone's 4th of July was good! We had a great time at my mom's cook-out and watching the fireworks at Mt. Trashmore. And luckily it cooled of to a nice breezy 87 degrees! It was nice out. The temp. with the heat index earlier in the day was 103 degrees! Yikes!
Hi Marley Farl! He's such a good boy! He's acutally out on his tether enjoying the sights and sounds. Gonna go get him in as soon as I finish posting this. He doesn't usually want to stay out too long and I'm sure it's starting to get hotter outside, although he's in shade. Anyway!

I love Marley with his reading glasses on!! I really need to go find which suitcase mine are in; my neck aches from looking at the screen through the bottom half of the old bi-focals! Damn, getting old is NOT for sissies!!
Is that a recent picture of Marley and Benji? I didn't realize what a size difference there is between the two!! Kind of like Flumpy and Meepsie together!!
CAT FOUNTAINS--someone was asking about cat fountains--my sister has one, it works great, the cats love it. Living in So. Arizona, she is always trying ideas to keep everyone drinking(water, that is[lol]). Over the years, she has had most of those little house "water features" you find at Linens & Things or Bed, Bath & Beyond. Most of the pumps last about 6 months and crap out. This one(from PetsMart) has lasted 2 years so far. She fills it with filtered water, and takes it apart to clean about once a month. All three cats love it, and the dogs prefer the good old dog bowl.
Jan - The pic of Benji laying w/Marley was last year. He was still a wee bitty kitty. Hehe! Btw, Why have I not rec'd a pic of, Flumpy is it??? We saw Miss MeowmePurr....come on now! lol :)
Wow, I didn't realize Benji was so small! I knew he wasn't a big cat but I thought he was bigger, or maybe I thought Marley was smaller!
Anyway, see Marley lets me see what Simon will look like. He's getting "fixed" on Friday so I expect he'll start to put on weight very soon. Mr. Simon has become agressive toward Oscar and I think it's because he's not fixed and Oscar is. Oscar is so huge but such a wimp. He won't establish his place as Alpha and Simon is taking advantage of that. I'm worried because Oscar's personality has really changed. But that will hopefully change as of Friday!
Sorry to talk about my kitty problems. We're here to celebrate Mr. Marley! What a beautiful boy he is! I can't wait until the red on Simon's face and tail gets darker.
Look how cute. Marley is soooooooo big compared to Benji. WOW!!!! They are adorable together. Too bad it isn't all the time.
Kim - I'm trying to change the post to say that it was Benji as a kitten. He is definately not that small anymore!! :( He weighs about 12 lbs. now and Marley's a healthy 16 lbs.! And girl, talk away about your kitty woes! Simon's aggressive behavior is definately partly due to his not being neutered! After Friday he'll start calming down towards Oscar, hopefully! For Oscar's sake, right?! Poor Oscar baby! I always tell Marley, "Stand up for your rights (Bob Marley) Marley! How big are you!?"
Me-ow! Marley, you are a be-you-tiful cat. Good of you to up-put-with annoying kittens. I don't tolerate Victor getting that close, but we shared our boy's bed... once.
Cat fountains are the bestest source of fresh water. I guard mine fiercely.

Marley is a very good looking cat. Of course, I know this because he is ginger like me. I like the sunglasses also as that adds a touch of sophistication to his natural good-looks.
